And she is amazing, really she is. Her name is Andrea Gibson and she's a leading lady in the slam community, more than that she's a beautiful poet and activist, and I spoke to her on the phone. I needed her birthday for a teammates UIL piece, I tried emailing Andrea's booking agent but got no reply and through some internets sluething I managed to find her phone number. I didn't want to call, like really DID NOT but my drama teacher insisted that we needed the information immediately. So I sucked it up and called her, proceeded to fangirl my way through most of the call and she was so kind and so sweet and so understanding. I still don't think she gets that me talking to her is like equal to meeting kurt cobain, She's one of my heroes and an absolute rockstar to me, being able to speak with her for that short time was amazing and I'm kind of upset I didn't tell her how much I do love her.
I'm so excited about this I still can't sleep.
